What we collect
When you create an account, Comiri collects your email address and your first and last name. Your first and last name are a private record of your account; other Members never see them. When you affirm the Commitments you choose the name you use in Comiri, and that chosen name is what appears beside anything you post. In Connect you may add an optional photo and a short introduction, which are shown to Members according to the choices you make there.
Comiri also keeps what you choose to do here: the content you post in Conversations and Shared Intentions, what you save, your Journey reflections, your RSVPs and Circle membership, your volunteer service, and the private messages and files you send in Connect. Attendance at Gatherings may be recorded from the meeting's participant list; attendance is internal operational information and is never shown to Members, never produces a public count or ranking, and never changes an RSVP, Membership, or App access.
If you buy the Commons App or give to Comiri, Stripe processes the payment and Comiri keeps a record of the subscription or gift, linked to your account when you are signed in, so that your giving history and annual giving statements can find it.
How it is used
Your information is used to run Comiri: to sign you in, show you your own material, let you take part in community spaces, send the emails you have chosen to receive, and process payments and gifts. Aggregate counts help the founder understand how Comiri is used. Spiritual conversation content never enters analytics and never trains a model. No data is sold or shared with advertisers.
Cookies and analytics
Comiri uses a small number of first-party cookies, set by comiri.org itself. The cookies that keep you signed in and keep your account secure are strictly necessary, and they are always on.
Comiri also keeps the records it needs to run and protect the Commons: sign-in and security records, payment and gift records, delivery records for the emails it sends, and short-lived protections against misuse. These are part of providing the service and continue whatever you choose about usage analytics.
Separately, Comiri uses limited first-party usage data to understand and improve the Commons: which pages are visited and the steps people take, such as creating an account, saving a seat at a Gathering, affirming the Commitments, starting or finishing a course, using Ask the Commons, giving, starting App checkout and the App becoming active, and which other sites people follow links to. Comiri collects and keeps it alone. No third-party analytics or advertising company receives it, and it is never used to follow you across other sites.
Each visit is measured on its own, with a random identifier kept in your browser tab's session storage that ends with that session. Comiri sets no cookie or other identifier to recognise your browser from one visit to the next. When you are signed in, usage data is recorded with your account.
Usage analytics records the address of the page without anything after a question mark, the name of the site that linked you here, and any campaign codes in that link. It never holds the words of your Ask questions, Library or site searches, messages, Support requests, emails, or anything else you write. It records only that a step happened, with simple counts such as how many results a search found. Your exact IP address is never kept for analytics; a scrambled form of it is held for up to a day to limit misuse.
If you have an account, you can turn usage analytics off at any time under My Account → Data & Privacy. While it is off, Comiri stores no usage analytics for your account, on any device where you are signed in. This section is current as of October 11, 2026.
Artificial intelligence
AI may be used to assist with research and site functions, including Ask the Commons, which draws on the Commons Library. Conversation content is sent to the AI provider for the duration of a request and is not retained by the provider beyond it.
Member roll
The member roll is confidential. It is readable only by the founder for administering Comiri, it does not appear on any Member-facing page, and it never enters analytics. The founder can export it for administration; it is never shared or sold.
Your rights
From the Data & Privacy tab of My Account you can download everything Comiri holds that belongs to your account as one file, and you can delete your account yourself. Deletion is scheduled thirty days from the day you ask; during those thirty days you can sign in and cancel it. When the thirty days end, your account and its personal data are removed, including your posts, intentions, Connect messages, and uploaded files.
Retention
Your account information is kept for the life of your account. Records of giving and App subscriptions are kept for seven years to meet financial record obligations; after an account is deleted they are held apart from Comiri and are not used by it. Gathering attendance records are kept as operational history for the life of the community; your own attendance goes with your account when your account is deleted. Crisis and safety records are kept for two years for safety review.
Crisis safety
Crisis-flagged interactions always route to human review and are never closed by an automated system alone.
